a5c7b9f00b The Empire of Tamriel is on the edge. The High King of Skyrim has been murdered. Alliances form as claims to the throne are made. In the midst of this conflict, a far more dangerous, ancient evil is awakened. Dragons, long lost to the passages of the Elder Scrolls, have returned to Tamriel. The future of Skyrim, even the Empire itself, hangs in the balance as they wait for the prophesized Dragonborn to come; a hero born with the power of The Voice, and the only one who can stand amongst the dragons. After escaping execution, the last living Dragonborn must grow in strength and power to defeat the dragons that have once again begun to plague the land of Skyrim. THIS is the much-hyped game? This is the "best of best game RPG ever made" fanboys have been lauding for the past few weeks? This isn't even an RPG. This is a 3D fighting game. But, at some point during development, they noticed it wouldn't be able compete with other fighters… so they tacked an "RPG" tag in there, an altogether too common practice lately; and the masses flocked.

There's very little to say. All characters (munchkins) can excel in everything because the modern gamer can't cope with limitations, choice or specialisation; stats are nonexistent (armors give "Defense", weapons give "Damage"… that's it); yes, this is a truly classless game.

It's sad the mainstream industry has abandoned the RPG genre, but thankfully a handful of indie developers are picking it up. Sure, their titles don't look anywhere as good as this, but at least they're fun. My eyes were stuck to the TV, from the very first sequence of the game. The game continued to entertain me till the very end. It is filled with entertaining and reward-filled side quests, entertaining characters and endless of different traits and ways to personalize you very own person. I still today, tend to go back to my now quite dusty ps3 just to get thrill of playing this masterpiece and feeling just as much amusement as i did back she i first got my hands on this. If you haven't already played this, you HAVE to buy it as soon as possible, because you're really missing out on something!

Sebastian Joost
